Powered by Sarawak Energy, the Sarawak Energy Marathon is the Company’s annual flagship running event, held every second of August in Kuching, Sarawak. Bringing together the community and running enthusiasts in the shared spirit of healthy living, the running event goes beyond the finishing line with all registration fees being channelled to charitable organisations across Sarawak – reflecting the organisation’s social responsibility effort in powering communities.
The Sarawak Energy Marathon offers four categories – 42km Full Marathon, 21km Half Marathon, 10km Competitive Run and 5km Fun Run – designed for seasoned marathoners, competitive runners and first-time participants alike.
Formerly known as the Sarawak Energy Isthmus Run, the event has grown significantly since its inaugural edition in 2013 – evolving from a community-focused run into a premier regional sporting event attracting thousands of runners from across Malaysia and around the world.
As it enters its 2026 edition on 9 August, the Sarawak Energy Marathon continues to grow as one of the State’s signature sporting events, fostering connection through the shared energy of running, purpose and community.
