1. What is the Sarawak Energy Marathon?
The Sarawak Energy Marathon is Sarawak Energy’s annual flagship running event, held every second Sunday of August in Kuching, Sarawak. First launched in 2013 as the Sarawak Energy Isthmus Run, the event enters its 2026 edition under the Sarawak Energy Marathon name, reflecting its evolution into a full marathon event.

The event is scheduled for 9 August 2026, at Menara Sarawak Energy, Kuching, Sarawak.

3. Who organises and supports the event?
The event is organised by Sarawak Energy. Grit Event Management is the appointed Run Technical Service Contractor.

4. What is the purpose of the marathon?
The marathon promotes active lifestyles and community participation. Registration fees support selected charitable and environmental initiatives in Sarawak.

5. What race categories are available?
The 2026 edition offers the following categories:

• 42km (Full Marathon)
• 21km (Half Marathon)
• 10km (Competitive Run)
• 5km (Fun Run)

6. When does early bird registration open?
Early bird registration opens on 14 February 2026 at 12.00pm.

7. How do I register?

8. What are the registration fees?

9. What do participants receive?
All participants will receive an official event t-shirt and a finisher’s medal. Those who complete the 42km and 21km within the official cut-off times of 7 hours and 4 hours respectively will also receive a finisher t-shirt.

10. Are there prizes for winners?
Cash prizes are awarded to the top finishers in selected categories. Further details will be announced in due course.

11. When will race-day details be announced?
